Our Schools
Region One includes seven schools throughout northwest Connecticut:
  • Lee H. Kellogg School (K 8) - Falls Village
  • Cornwall Consolidated School (K 8) - West Cornwall
  • Kent Center School (PreK 8) - Kent
  • North Canaan Elementary School (PreK 8) - Canaan
  • Salisbury Central School (PreK 8) - Lakeville
  • Sharon Center School (K 8) - Sharon
  • Housatonic Valley Regional High School (9 12) - Falls Village

What You'll Do
As a Substitute Teacher, you will:
  • Supervise and support students in the absence of their regular teacher;
  • Follow lesson plans and classroom routines provided by the teacher or administrator;
  • Help maintain a positive, respectful, and productive learning environment;
  • Use classroom technology and digital tools as directed;
  • Follow District health, safety, and school procedures; and
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff.

Requirements
Candidates must:
  • Hold a valid Connecticut teaching certificate or possess a Bachelor's Degree (college transcripts required);
  • Successfully complete required criminal background and DCF records checks;
  • Complete required Region One training; and
  • Be dependable, professional, and comfortable working with students.

Schedule & Assignments
Substitute Teachers work on an as-needed basis during the school year, offering flexibility to choose the days you are available to work.
Assignments are available in our PreK 8 schools and at Housatonic Valley Regional High School. Applicants may indicate their preferred schools during the application process.
Salary: $135 per day
