Job Title: VP/Area Manager Bronx
Department: Property Management
Reports To: Senior VP/General Manager
Phipps Houses is one of the nation's oldest and largest not-for-profit developers/owners of affordable housing. It is a multi-faceted real estate organization, involved in the development, finance, construction and asset management of new and rehabilitated multi-family housing for low to middle income New Yorkers. Through its subsidiary, Phipps Houses Services, Inc., it conducts residential and commercial property management, and its tax-exempt affiliate, Phipps Neighborhoods, provides human services to its development communities
The Organization is looking for a bright, energetic VP/Area Manager to lead in the day-to-day management of our affordable housing portfolio in the Bronx. This portfolio is a mix of LIHTC and HUD properties. There are 1400 units in 10 properties.
Our Company is the largest developer and manager of affordable housing in New York City. We pride ourselves on the longevity of our staff, great salary and benefits program, and the team-oriented culture we have built.
Successful candidate MUST have experience in supervising a large portfolio of affordable housing assets (5 yrs. or more) along with tax credit experience and managing a staff of direct reports. Responsibilities include provide customer service to our residents; overseeing a site management team and maintenance staff; P+L responsibilities; budget oversight; the ability to work collaboratively with site staff and other team members within the organization. The applicant must demonstrate excellent communication and budgeting skills, be confident and able to manage multiple projects.

Salary Range $175,000 - $185,000, based on education, training and experience. Position is eligible for year-end discretionary bonus.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of bachelor's degree required; plus, five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in affordable housing. Must have experience with Tax Credit, fair housing, affordable housing and NYC landlord tenant laws.
