Job description

Subsea Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

Build what explores the unknown. Join a growing team designing and producing advanced autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) for exploration and defense. As a direct-hire teammate, you’ll be the hands-on bridge that carries new designs from engineering into full-scale production.

A day in this role

On 1st shift, you’ll start by reviewing blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings, then move into assembling complex electro-mechanical systems. You’ll fabricate and install cable harnesses and pressure-rated connectors, performing precise crimping and soldering to IPC standards. Through the day, you’ll run functional tests, troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical assemblies, and perform leak and pressure testing as well as component calibration. You’ll support New Product Introduction (NPI) with pilot builds, process improvements, and clear assembly documentation—always maintaining quality, following ESD and safety procedures, and collaborating closely with engineering and production.

Core responsibilities
  • Assemble complex electro-mechanical systems and components.
  • Build/install cable harnesses, wiring, and pressure-rated connectors.
  • Crimp and solder to IPC standards.
  • Conduct functional testing and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Support NPI to transition new designs into manufacturing.
  • Assist with pilot builds, process improvements, and assembly documentation.
  • Perform leak testing, pressure testing, and calibration of components.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
  • Uphold quality standards; follow ESD and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to improve processes.
Required qualifications
  • 4+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experience.
  • Background in manufacturing such as aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, marine, or similar industries.
  • Proficiency reading technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, wire harnessing, and cable fabrication.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.
  • Experience using testing equipment (e.g., multimeters and measuring tools).
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Comfort lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred qualifications
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Experience with marine robotics, AUVs, ROVs, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of leak testing, pressure testing, waterproof assemblies, or subsea applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Lean Manufacturing.
