Job description

What will you be doing?

ย ย  ย With minimal supervision, independently evaluate, organize, & prioritize your projects.
ย ย  ย Review and become familiar with client specifications during Tender and Projects.
ย ย  ย Provide specialist skills & knowledge in key areas of materials and welding engineering.
ย ย  ย Produce data sheets for component (forging, pipe, bend, etc) procurement and provide technical oversite of component procurement.
ย ย  ย Review fabricators submitted Material Test Reports, Welding Procedure Packages and Non-Destructive Testing Procedures in accordance with industry codes, standards & client specifications.
ย ย  ย Contribute to training & development while innovating solutions.

What experience would we like you to have?

ย ย  ย Bachelor of Science degree in Weld Engineering, Metallurgy or Material Science with 7 years' practical experience in Weld Engineering.
ย ย  ย Must have fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
ย ย  ย Proficient with most common business software tools and packages.
ย ย  ย Welding and fabrication involving typical subsea material combinations including base materials of carbon steel pipe, forgings, CRAs (including nickel alloys, duplex and super duplex stainless) as well as inlay and overlay cladding of these materials.
ย ย  ย Subsea fabrication, manufacturing, and welding experience with any of the following; PLET's, PLEM's, jumpers (rigid or flexible), umbilical's and related structures (SUTA, TUTA), manifolds, subsea connection systems, subsea valves, pigging equipment, pull-in heads, suction piles and other subsea foundations.
ย ย  ย AWS Certified Welding Inspector or Certified Welding Engineer (current or past)
ย ย  ย NDE Certifications such as ASNT Level II or preferably Level III in multiple NDE methods (current or past)
ย ย  ย Experience and familiarity with various offshore operator's (majors and independents) materials and welding specifications.
ย ย  ย Welding of both the pressure containing kit and fabricated steel structures (skids, frames, mudmats, mooring) used in typical subsea structures.
ย ย  ย Experience with manufacture and testing of line pipe
ย ย  ย Experience with hot induction bending of pipe
ย ย  ย Forging and materials processing techniques for controlling mechanical properties.
ย ย  ย Experience with flanged connections and bolting.
ย ย  ย Experience with subsea cathodic protection systems, and the material related issues of CP (HIC) in the subsea environment. ##-DDL1
