Job description

Company Overview:
The Neenan Company is an integrated design-build firm in Ft. Collins, CO committed to delivering innovative, high-quality projects that elevate the communities we serve.
We are seeking an Accountant to be part of our team.

This is a hybrid position with the possibility of working remotely part of the week. Successful candidates are thorough, act independently and are highly responsible for accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Setting up jobs and entering budgets in the accounting system
Creating, entering, and supporting project/owner billings, including lump sum and cost-plus billings
Reconciling customer statements, general ledger accounts, and bank records, and resolving discrepancies
Assisting with month-end close and performing basic accounting tasks
Maintaining accurate files and documentation in line with company policy and accounting standards
Analyzing subcontractor financial statements for prequalification purposes
Supporting annual external audits and project-specific audits
Gathering invoice backup for sales and use tax filings
Tracking subcontractor lien waivers for selected projects
Providing strong customer service, maintaining solid working relationships, and contributing positively to the team
Qualifications:
Education & experience: Bachelor"s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, plus at least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction.


Industry knowledge: Familiarity with construction contracts and construction billing methods
Technical skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP/accounting systems such as CMiC
Core competencies: Strong organization, time management, problem-solving, documentation, research, data analysis, multitasking skills, and willingness to learn
Work style: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with accuracy and timeliness.
Communication & professionalism: Good written and verbal communication, plus professional interaction with employees, team members, customers, and vendors.
