I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary:
The Biostatistics Center is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The Biostatistics Center serves as the coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiologic studies funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other Federal agencies. The Biostatistics Center is a leader in the statistical coordination of major medical research programs of national and international scope, frequently leading to major medical advances. The Biostatistics Center's Senior Subcontract Coordinator provides budgetary support and subaward, service and consultant agreement administration for large clinical trials in maternal-fetal medicine. The NIH-funded Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network (https://mfmunetwork.bsc.gwu.edu) is collaboration that includes 14 clinical centers, a data coordinating center (GW) and NICHD. Multiple studies are conducted concurrently. In addition to the data coordinating center award, each study has their own grant award and thus there are multiple budgets, subawards and other agreements that are overseen within the MFMU Network. The position works with Project and Admin staff to ensure critical needs of study are met.
Essential duties:
-Prepares, tracks, reviews and edits subaward, service and consultant agreements for accuracy and contract/grant compliance.
- Serves as liaison to subrecipients, contractors, BSC personnel and Office of the Vice President for Research.
-Reviews subrecipient invoices and authorizes payment
-Reviews subrecipient financial reports.
- Initiates purchase requisitions for subrecipient and contractor agreements.
- Monitors IRB (human subject approval) status for subawards and communicates with subrecipients regarding renewals.
-Tracks expenditures and analyzes costs.
- Reviews quarterly financial reports from subrecipients for incorporation into prime reports to sponsor.
-Provides administrative oversight of subawards under the direction of the Sr. Research Administrator.
- Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

-Strong quantitative, written, oral, organizational and teamwork skills
-Attention to detail
-An aptitude for working with budgets and invoices or some accounting experience
