Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle reconditioning and preventative maintenance on pre-owned inventory, including oil changes, tire replacement and rotation, wheel balancing, brake services, batteries, filters, and tune-ups.
  • Conduct comprehensive multi-point inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and safety concerns on used vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, HVAC, and drivability issues.
  • Ensure vehicles meet dealership, manufacturer, and state safety standards prior to sale.
  • Verify vehicle serviceability through road tests; adjust controls and systems as needed.
  • Complete all repair orders accurately and efficiently in the CDK system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while properly using shop tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate professionally with service advisors, parts department, and used car management to meet recon timelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and certifications as required.
  • Move and park vehicles throughout the dealership and outdoor lot as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Scheduled shifts may include evenings, Saturdays, and holidays.
  • Duties are performed throughout dealership facilities, both indoors and outdoors, with frequent movement around the service drive and vehicle lot.

Education / Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Automotive Trade School preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform multi-point inspections 100% of the time
  • Good reading, computer, and basic math skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies, tools, and repair procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain manufacturer certifications
