The Studio Manager in Training (SMIT) is a developmental leadership role designed to prepare high-potential Team Members for a future Studio Manager position within Gloloft. This role provides hands-on training in leadership, operations, team development, sales performance, and service excellence while working closely alongside Studio Managers and upper leadership.
The ideal candidate is motivated, coachable, service-driven, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. The Studio Manager in Training is expected to lead by example, support daily studio operations, and progressively take on increased leadership responsibilities throughout the training process.
Your Day to Day
As a Studio Manager in Training at Gloloft, your days are all about learning the art of leadership while creating unforgettable guest experiences. Youll work side-by-side with Studio Managers and leadership teams to keep the studio running smoothly, support team development, and drive sales and performance goals in a fast-paced, beauty-focused environment. From coaching team members on service excellence and supporting daily operations to jumping into guest interactions, problem-solving in real time, and celebrating studio wins, youll gain hands-on experience in every aspect of running a successful location. One moment you may be helping elevate the guest experience on the floor, the next youre reviewing KPIs, supporting training, organizing operations, or learning how to motivate a high-performing team. This role is designed for ambitious leaders who thrive in dynamic environments, love people, and are excited to grow into a future Studio Manager role with Gloloft.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Development
  • Learn and demonstrate Glolofts leadership standards, culture, and operational expectations.
  • Partner closely with Studio Managers and leadership teams to develop management and decision-making skills.
  • Assist with coaching and motivating Team Members to maintain a positive, performance-driven environment.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and exceptional guest service.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, training, and development opportunities.

Operational Training
  • Gain hands-on experience with all daily studio operations and administrative responsibilities.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing support, and monitoring studio utilization.
  • Learn inventory management processes, including product organization and supply ordering procedures.
  • Ensure all cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards are consistently upheld in accordance with company and State Board regulations.
  • Support opening and closing procedures and help maintain operational efficiency throughout the studio.

Service Excellence
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences by providing personalized, professional service.
  • Perform airbrush tanning services as needed to support studio operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Learn how to effectively resolve client concerns while maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Uphold all Gloloft service standards and brand expectations.

Sales & Performance Development
  • Develop an understanding of studio sales goals, membership performance, and key business metrics.
  • Support membership sales initiatives and learn effective client consultation techniques.
  • Assist in driving studio productivity through client engagement, retention, and service recommendations.
  • Learn how to analyze performance trends and contribute to achieving studio goals.

Culture & Team Support
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy studio environment.

Position Goal
The goal of the Studio Manager in Training role is to successfully develop the skills, leadership abilities, and operational knowledge necessary to transition into a Studio Manager position within Gloloft.
