About VIATechnik:
VIATechnik is on a mission to lead the built environment in creating a better future, today. We are one team of over 500 digital experts around the globe. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed architects, engineers, tradespersons, researchers, and business leaders. Together, we empower clients through high-quality, high-velocity experiences that consistently improve outcomes across the design, construction, and operations of buildings and infrastructure. Our clients include Amazon, Mars Wrigley, and National Geographic, the firms shaping the world's most ambitious projects.
About Roots Studio, M&P:
Roots Studio, M&P empowers mechanical and piping trade contractors to deliver projects with greater efficiency and precision. We leverage VDC and BIM from design assist through construction and fabrication, streamlining workflows to save time, reduce material waste, and minimize labor costs. Whether we're optimizing coordination, supporting fabrication, or enhancing constructability, our team turns complex mechanical and piping challenges into opportunities for smarter, faster builds. If you're passionate about driving efficiency in the built environment, Roots Studio, M&P is where you can innovate, grow, and help shape the future of construction.
The Role:
Lead digital coordination at the front edge of virtual construction. We're hiring a VDC Manager to lead complex Mechanical & Plumbing (M&P) modeling and coordination across high-impact projects nationwide. This leadership role offers the chance to deliver fabrication-ready models, mentor a growing VDC team, and collaborate with senior technical leaders to reshape how digital construction is executed.
Why this role represents a true career move:
  • High Visibility - Work directly with strategic clients, project executives, and Roots Studio leadership.
  • Stretch and Growth - Expand into client consulting, internal innovation, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Innovation-Focused - Identify and implement new software, tools and automation in VDC workflows to drive industry change.
  • Real-World Impact - Influence construction timelines, budget certainty, and field installation success.
You're likely a strong candidate if you:
  • Have led VDC or BIM coordination efforts in MEP or M&P-intensive projects from design to fabrication and installation.
  • Are confident managing project delivery, stakeholder alignment, and technical execution.
  • Want to coach and scale a technical team while evolving workflows.
  • Can bring structure and leadership to a remote, fast-paced, tech-enabled environment.
Application information:
During the application process, you'll be asked to outline a key project you've led in M&P coordination. Think about one that is something similar in scope, complexity, or business impact to the challenges described in the job description.
Compensation and featured benefits:
  • The pay for this position is $100,000- $130,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
  • Open and flexible time off
  • A 401(k) plan that is fully vested immediately
  • Home office setup costs
  • Paid holidays
