Job description

Art Gallery - Retail Sales and Administrative Associate:

We are searching for an energetic, focused, positive, self-motivated team player that enjoys working with the public, and is willing to learn and carry out the following responsibilities:

- Sales of fine art and fine crafts, which includes learning and memorizing information about the artists and their work to confidently share the information with customers.

- Carry out special marketing projects as they arise.

- Assist with administrative duties that includes working with Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Prepare sales slips which requires good math skills as we do not use a point of sales program.

- Receiving shipments.

- Merchandizing.

- Inventory.

- Gift wrapping.

- Display

- Daily cleaning which includes glass shelves and merchandise, polishing furniture and sweeping.

The above information indicates the general responsibilities of the job; however, additional duties may arise as needed. The candidate should be comfortable working under pressure during very busy times, and utilize time well during quieter times. A background or knowledge of art is helpful but not required. The job may be part or full time, weekly flexibility is helpful. We are open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily and noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays with additional holiday hours.
