Local Team Collaboration:
  • Long Beach Memorial Medical Center is a 420-bed non-profit teaching hospital that has been recognized as a major regional provider of medical and surgical services by US News and World Report.
  • Intensivist will rotate through both Med/Surg ICU and CVICU (depending on need).
  • 15-bed CVICU (non-teaching service).
  • 32-bed Med/Surg ICU, which is the teaching service with Internal Medicine residents.
  • EMR: Cerner with dragon for dictation.

Qualifications:
  • Board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO).
  • A commitment to excellence in clinical service, with strong problem-solving abilities essential for the ICU setting.
  • Ability to perform all technical skills in the critical care setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the ICU with all team members and across the hospital
  • Active California medical license preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Not considering 2027 Fellows at this time.

Scheduling:
  • Intensivist provides care in med/surg ICU and CVICU between 7pm-7am.
  • This position entails one week of nights per month (Monday-Sunday).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants, and hospitalist team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care services.
  • This is an ideal environment for someone wanting to care for the full spectrum of critically ill patients.
  • Opportunity to teach residents at the bedside.

Rewards and Compensation:
  • Competitive hourly compensation: Annual income $231,840.
