Job description

Location: 400 E Airport Fwy, Irving, TX 75062

Schedule: Monday- Thursday: 9-6 or 10-7( One evening per week)   Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation: Up to $30/hr

About the Role 

Student Success Coordinators are deeply student-centered, data-informed, and outcomes-driven. While this role has a primary functional focus on retention and certification, all coordinators operate as unified members of the Student Success team and share ownership of overall student outcomes. 

As a Student Success Coordinator, you will develop strong relationships with and support students from onboarding through graduation, building strong, consistent relationships with students, proactively addressing barriers to success, and driving outcomes related to retention, certification, and program completion. 

Key Responsibilities 

Performance & Accountability 

  • Manage an active caseload of students and meet defined performance metrics, which may include retention and persistence, certification readiness and attainment, and graduation progression 

Student Engagement & Advocacy 

  • Serve as a consistent point of contact and advocate for assigned students throughout their academic journey, building rapport, trust and accountability 
  • Proactively engage students to identify and address academic and other barriers to persistence, certification readiness, and completion 

Retention & Certification Support 

  • Drive retention and certification outcomes through early intervention, milestone tracking, and consistent follow-up 
  • Support accommodation requests, resource referrals, and appropriate escalation as needed 

Data, Documentation & Compliance 

  • Accurately document all student interactions and outcomes 
  • Participate in cohort tracking, G&E chart confirmation, and required audits in addition to weekly and monthly reporting on student success metrics 

Events, Programming & Collaboration 

  • Support, participate in, and/or facilitate student success events and initiatives such as retention workshops, certification readiness activities, career fairs, and alumni events, collaborating with other departments as needed 

Other Duties 

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, including required onboarding and ongoing training related to student success systems, performance metrics, and operational processes 

Qualifications 

Education 

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred 

Experience  

  • 1-2 years of experience in student services, advising, career services, workforce development, recruiting, or a related support role 
  • 1 year of related experience in a proprietary (for profit), post-secondary educational setting preferred 

Skills 

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills with a student-centered approach 
  • Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment with shared accountability 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to learn new systems 
  • A positive, team-oriented approach and willingness to work outside regular business hours and travel locally or overnight as needed
