Job Summary
The Dual Credit Success Coach provides necessary support for high school students to be successful in their coursework and provides transition guidance to those continuing beyond high school in their education. This position coordinates the recruitment, registration and retention of high school students taking college classes offered through North Central Texas College. The Success Coach serves as the primary liaison between the internal and external stakeholders to ensure basic compliance with college procedures at North Central Texas College.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Develop and implement a plan for advising and communication to assist high school counselors, parents and students to better understand dual credit and make informed decisions
  • Collaborate with admissions, enrollment management, business office, testing and IT departments to ensure success and smooth transition for dual credit students
  • Maintain current knowledge of Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and Texas Education Authority (TEA) rules pertaining to dual credit, core curriculum and Texas Success Initiative (TSI)
  • Make regular visits with high schools to communicate effectively to students, counselors and staff to ensure optimal outcomes including training students of Learning Management System Canvas
  • Maintain current knowledge of academic programs to provide dual credit orientation and information sessions for parents, students, counselors various ISD staff and homeschool families
  • Counseling and advise individual or groups of homeschool parents and students for college readiness ie: Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Testing requirements, Vaccines, high school transcripts and registration process
  • Utilize various platforms with high proficiency such as J1, JRM, Docubase, MyNCTC, Microsoft Suites, Canvas, Prezi
  • Collect and process registration documentations per student per semester: Mou's, Registration Form, Early Admissions Forms, Transcripts, Test Scores, Vaccines, Residency Documents, Free and Reduce and other documents as required
  • Build and maintain a work environment to provide knowledge, respect, and continued skills development to engage with different cultural backgrounds
  • Increase student retention and improve student success through programs such as Early Alert System
  • Manage student schedules which includes registering, processing add/drops and withdrawals
  • Generate and analyze various reports such as: Enrollment, Free and Reduce, Holds, Admissions, Class Rosters
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA and other applicable state laws governing dual credit
  • Knowledge of Academic, Career and Technology Education and Pathway Curricula and Policies
  • Develop and deliver information sessions/presentations to community, schools and parents on dual credit
  • Attend workshops and professional development sessions to ensure best practices and trends on a state and federal level
  • Responsible for dual credit registration process- application, advising, registering, monitoring drops and withdraws, transcripts and test scores- receiving and inputting information in system
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide ethnic, cultural and diverse population
  • Travel to high schools weekly to develop and build solid sustainable relationships
  • Work closely with admissions, business office, testing and other offices to track dual credit discrepancies and monitor early alerts on students who are at risk of failing
  • Proficient in software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JRM, Jenzabar, Web X, MyNCTC and Canvas
  • Strong organizational, data and records management skills
  • Self-manage and be able to set and meet goals and deadlines with enrollment processes
  • Advise and counsel students and home school families on dual credit for academic and CTE programs available by evaluating degree plans and dual credit policies
  • Critical attention to detail for data input and managing dual credit enrollment

Preferred Skills & Abilities
Required Experience
One (1) year of experience supporting students directly in an educational, counseling, or resource-navigation role - Two years preferred
Preferred Experience
Three (3) years Education experience preferably Postsecondary Education preferred
One (1) year Computer Management Software preferred
