Description
The Student Services Intern position is responsible for providing assistance to various Student Services projects. Position will ensure that the department's goals and objectives are met. The intern will provide support services and assistance to department director and staff. Position will also assist events and assignments, as needed. Internship length is variable depending on student availability. This opportunity is only available for students enrolled at Lake Land College. Accepting applications for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)
  1. Assist with Student Services projects, events, and initiatives as assigned by supervisor.
  2. Provide assistance with Student Services program information, student information, and data entry, often on tight deadlines.
  3. Communicate information and/or requirements with students.
  4. Assist staff, faculty, students and others if needed as it pertains to Student Services related information.
  5. Schedule meetings and events using Microsoft Outlook and telephone; revise departmental forms as needed.
  6. Maintain student/program confidentiality.
  7. Update and maintain Web site content.
  8. Work closely with other interns and employees.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Experience in office setting, related experience in college setting preferred.
Knowledge: Business etiquette, general office procedures.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; Microsoft Office XP skills; multi-line digital phone system; ability to learn the college software system and word processing.
Personal: Detail-oriented, self-starter who enjoys data entry and a fast-paced work environment. Work consistently to further the college's vision and values. Work collaboratively with immediate peers and other departmental areas to support student learning and development. Show respect and compassion for others.
Physical: Ability to visually and manually access computer screens and electronic records in software packages currently used by the college; ability to manually input data; ability to manipulate and transport 50 pounds.
