The Wasaga Beach Public Library is seeking an energetic and self-motivated team player to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Junior Library Aide.

General Responsibilities: Perform selected and specialized library routines and assigned tasks to support the Technical Services Department’s management of collection materials. Works under predetermined procedures and standards requiring accuracy and attention to detail to complete the shelving of materials according to library classification systems; perform shelf reading to verify proper organization; assist with inventory, book processing, and other duties as assigned. Provides customer assistance to members of the public who have simple collection, service and program-related queries.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or current Secondary School student status
  • Computer aptitude including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service abilities;
  • Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work with and contribute positively to a service-oriented team;
  • Able to provide an appropriate vulnerable sector criminal records check upon hire (if over the age of 18);
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Hourly Wage Range: $17.85 – $19.31
