Position Summary
This position will assist with the organization, maintenance, cleaning and day-to-day operations at Southeast Technical College's (STC) student housing. This is a part-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule that may vary based upon needs. This position may also have some evening and Saturday hours. Must be available to assist with Fall move in and move out and Spring move in and move out and summer projects.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins regarding housing applications, assignments, policies, and billing
  • Greet and direct residents and visitors professionally
  • Be knowledgeable about housing processes, dates, deadlines, and information contained on housing website
  • Be knowledgeable about STC campus, campus resources, and academic resources
  • Maintain accurate housing records and databases in compliance with institutional policies
  • Assist with housing applications, document verification, and applicant communication
  • Process and organize housing forms and paperwork
  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling, correspondence, and documentation
  • Create and distribute housing communications (e.g. notices, newsletters, flyers)
  • Support housing-related events by preparing materials, tracking attendance, and coordinating logistics
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks (e.g. replacing light bulbs, checking smoke detectors, air filters)
  • Help prepare vacant units with light cleaning and minor touch-ups
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas and office space
  • Report larger maintenance issues to facilities
  • Support move-in/move-out processes including key distribution and room condition tracking
  • Assist with lockouts and enforce housing policies when necessary; potentially working/being available outside of office hours during move in
  • Adjust work hours as needed to meet staffing and facility needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Other requirements:
    1. Must be an enrolled STC student
    2. Computer skills: Ability to use email systems, word processing, spreadsheet software, creative design software (Ex: Canva)
    3. Communication: ability to actively listen and to effectively communicate with others through written and oral communication
    4. Present a positive and welcoming image
    5. Must be available to assist with Fall move in and move out and Spring move in and move out.
    6. Must be available to assist with summer housing operations and summer projects

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Occasionally subjected to mechanical and electrical hazards, extreme temperatures and humidity. Occasional exposure to fumes, dust, and cleaning chemicals. Moderate equipment noise at times.
