Job description

Job Title

Monitor and maintain the discipline management system as it relates to student transportation.

Prepare for distribution correspondence, reports, and documents in relation to student discipline from and between bus drivers, campuses, parents and driver manager.

Daily communication with bus drivers and campus personnel.

Maintain all discipline related files.

Monitor and maintain functions of the eight-camera bus security system.

Coordinate with Transportation management and campus personnel in retrieval of video surveillance files as needed.

Maintain filing system of video surveillance files.

Report and coordinate with requisite Transportation personnel any repairs for the eight-camera bus security system.

Processing SMART Tag student relating data.

Process and send reports as needed.

Operate any Katy ISD school bus and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner while following all traffic laws, district policies, district regulations and Transportation Department regulations.

Provide support, as needed, to other positions in the Transportation Department.

Other duties as assigned.

Equipment used includes video surveillance equipment, radio communication equipment, multi-line phone system, personal computer, copier/fax/scanner, calculator. Transportation related equipment, wheelchair lift, securements. School buses, emergency equipment (triangle reflectors, fire extinguisher, bodily fluids kit, etc.) and district vehicles.

Working conditions require maintaining emotional control under stress. Continual sitting. Repetitive hand and arm motions. Occasional exposure to noise, extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes. Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposed to heat, dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel. Prolonged driving and sitting. Irregular hours and occasional prolonged hours.
