About the Role/Team
Entrupy is seeking a highly organized and dependable Bags & Leather Goods Data Collector to support the continued growth of our authentication technology. This is a part-time, hourly position working approximately 16-24 hours per week, based primarily in our New York City office.
In this role, you will help build the high-quality datasets that power Entrupy's authentication systems by scanning luxury and contemporary bags and leather goods, organizing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the movement of products throughout the data collection process.
You will work hands-on with items from brands such as Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Dior while contributing directly to the development of AI-powered authentication technology. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career candidate who is passionate about fashion, design, and organizing information and is interested in gaining experience at the intersection of fashion, technology, and data.
This is a data collection and operational support role and does not include responsibility for authenticating products.
Reports to: Bags & Leather Goods Knowledge Lead
Location: New York City, primarily based in Entrupy's NYC office, with occasional visits to local data partner locations
What you'll do
  • Capture high-quality scans and images of bags, small leather goods, belts, and other related accessories using Entrupy's proprietary hardware and mobile application.
  • Follow established data collection workflows to ensure scans and product records are accurate, consistent, and complete.
  • Review and classify product information according to defined categories and data requirements.
  • Organize, catalog, and maintain physical inventory throughout the data collection process.
  • Accurately log product details, scanning progress, and inventory movement using Google Sheets and internal tools.
  • Prepare and carefully pack items for return shipment.
  • Drop off outgoing return shipments at the designated shipping location within Entrupy's NYC office building.
  • Track items through intake, scanning, storage, and return to ensure inventory remains accurate and accounted for.
  • Handle products carefully and maintain an organized, secure workspace.
  • Work collaboratively with the Knowledge team to meet timelines and maintain data quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, application, or connectivity issues during scanning sessions.
  • Occasionally support data collection at local partner sites, generally no more than once per month.
  • Assist with additional data collection and inventory-related tasks as needed.

What you bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; current college students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interest in fashion, handbags, leather goods, accessories, or product design.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in sorting, categorizing, and maintaining accurate information.
  • A reliable and consistent approach to scheduling, attendance, and task completion.
  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed processes, and manage multiple items and tasks without losing track of details.
  • Comfort working with physical inventory and maintaining accurate records.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets, or the ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and care.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to partner locations within the New York City area.
  • Previous experience in fashion, luxury retail, inventory management, logistics, photography, product handling, or data collection is a plus but not required.

Salary Range - $18 - $20 per hour
This is an exempt salaried position. The starting salary for this role is between $18 - $20 per hour, depending on skills and experience. We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards. Individual compensation decisions are based on several factors, including experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. Based on these factors, we expect most of the candidates offered roles at our company to fall within the range. We recognise that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description, as posted. If so, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
