Position Summary
The Community Health Interventions Lab is looking for a Data Collector to support community-based research related to food insecurity in lower-income and underserved communities. The selected candidate will be responsible for serving as the lead data collector for research studies. This IN-PERSON position will be based in the department of Community Health and Health Behavior within the School of Public Health and Health Professions. This position reports to the Data Collection Coordinator.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Contribute to data collection protocols
    • Work with the Assistant Director of Research to develop project workflows and protocols relevant to the data collection process
    • Design training for data collectors based on written protocol
  • Assist with onboarding new student data collectors
  • Complete data collection
    • Complete phone interviews and surveys
    • Participate in weekly data collection meetings
    • Troubleshoot data collection issues with the data collection team o Identify and implement improvements in the data collection process
    • Manage participants in databases

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (our Studies include both Spanish and English speaking participants)
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Ability to occasionally travel locally

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Degree in Process
  • 1 year of research experience
  • Experience with data collection and survey tools/programs (RedCap, Excel, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey)
  • Experience working in the communities targeted by research

Salary Range
$20.00 - $25.00/hr
