COFFEE COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM Job Description School Bookkeeper Responsible to: PrincipalQualifications:Minimum of high school diploma or equivalentMinimum of two (2) years experience in maintaining recordsAbility to adjust to varying tasks as assignedFamiliar with proper accounting proceduresStrong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skillsCompetent technological skills including the operation of bookkeeping hardware and software Essential Responsibilities:Maintains a complete, systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the school or districtPrepares financial statements and cost reports which reflect the financial condition of the school or districtReconciles accounts with bank statementsIssues purchase ordersVerifies and pays invoicesFollows Tennessee Internal School Uniform Accounting Policy ManualMaintains contacts with vendors, bank personnel, and school or district stakeholdersDemonstrates positive customer service skillsGeneral Requirements:Follows Federal and State Laws and adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board prioritiesConducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest standards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/Mission StatementsMaintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection of confidential student and staff information Other responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assignedBOE Revisions Approved 2/8/10
