Job description

Standard Solar aims to expand its Structured Finance team. The Manager will assist in structuring and negotiating, and will primarily be responsible for managing and executing tax equity and debt financings. The Manager will handle daily relationships with investors, lenders, and third-party providers, build cross-functional relationships with our development, engineering, and construction teams, and oversee analysts to ensure new financing meets business needs and existing financings are successfully deployed. An effective Manager will need strong initiative, excellent organizational skills, fluency in financial modeling, and clear communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all deliverables for ordinary course deployment to existing tax equity and debt funds.
  • Coordinate diligence for and manage day-to-day relationships with tax equity investors and lenders.
  • Assist with negotiation of and lead modeling and diligence efforts for new tax equity and debt funds.
  • Build, maintain, and extend project finance and corporate financial models.
  • Manage and develop analysts.
  • Support evaluation of strategic opportunities.
  • Additional duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • BS/BA with a concentration in economics, finance, accounting, energy, or a related field.
  • 4+ years in project finance at a financial institution lending or investing in, an advisor on transactions relating to, or a developer of, renewable energy projects. Experience in DG solar preferred.
  • Fluency in financial modeling and familiarity with tax equity and debt structures.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience working across teams and with external partners.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position requires a candidate's presence in our office 5 days per week. The candidate may interface with customers, financial partners, bank personnel, vendors, and other employees, including Senior and Executive Management, as well as the public.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
