Position Summary

The Finance Intern will support the Finance Department by assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and government contracting financial operations. This internship provides hands-on experience in a federal contractor environment and exposure to financial processes supporting U.S. Government programs.

The Finance Intern will work closely with finance, contracts, program management, and business operations personnel while developing practical skills in accounting, financial analysis, cost management, and federal compliance requirements.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Support project accounting activities, including labor and cost tracking.
  • Assist with monthly financial close activities and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review.
  • Support revenue, expense, and profitability reporting.
  • Assist with contract funding and project financial monitoring.
  • Review labor charging and timekeeping data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support Deltek Costpoint reporting and data analysis activities.
  • Assist with indirect rate analysis and financial performance metrics.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting exercises.
  • Support invoice preparation and customer billing activities.
  • Assist with financial audits and compliance reviews.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and financial documentation.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and financial data management projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in government contracting, telecommunications, defense, or technology industries.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance if required.
