Job Overview:
  • Location: Immerse yourself in our innovative culture! This role requires a commitment of 4 days in-office per week at our facility in Garden Grove, CA as well as full-time hours (40 hours a week).
  • Duration: 11-14 weeks (Sep 8 to Dec 11 OR Sep 21 to Dec 4)
  • Relocation Support: A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns currently residing more than 50 miles from Garden Grove, CA.
  • Compensation: Earn an hourly rate of $25-35 USD per hour.
Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical, data curious, and process oriented Business or Engineering student to join our Production Finance team. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Material Planning, and Logistics, supporting the company during a critical production ramp and product launch phase. You will work closely with cross functional partners to help build scalable financial processes, improve data visibility, and automate manual workflows.

This is an ideal role for someone who loves working with data, enjoys turning messy inputs into clean, repeatable processes, and is excited about improving how a factory runs through better financial insights.

What You'll Do:

Production Finance Reporting and Analytics

  • Support financial reporting and analysis for Manufacturing, Quality, Material Planning, and Logistics functions.
  • Assist in building and maintaining production focused financial models, including:
  • Labor cost tracking, direct and indirect.
  • Various other non-comp cost tracking.
  • Inventory movements and material consumption.
  • Freight and logistics cost analytics.
  • Develop standardized tracking tools and templates to improve monthly close, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Help document and improve reporting processes related to:
  • Actuals versus forecast and budget.
  • Headcount and labor efficiency.
  • Capital expenditures and other manufacturing related expenses.
  • Partner with Accounting to help identify potential issues in data flow, accruals, and cost classification impacting cost of goods sold.

Process Improvement and Automation

  • Identify manual, spreadsheet heavy workflows and help design more scalable, automated solutions.
  • Improve data integrity and repeatability by standardizing inputs across systems such as NetSuite, Google Sheets, and NSAW (NetSuite Analytics Warehouse) dashboards.
  • Assist with building and maintaining automation friendly trackers using formulas, structured logic, and clear documentation.
  • Support the creation of dashboards and key performance indicators to enable faster, more informed decision making for production leaders.
  • Document end to end processes and create clear, user friendly guides for repeatable workflows.

Systems and Tools Enablement

  • Support the Production Finance team in using and improving financial systems and planning tools such as NetSuite, planning models, and reporting tools.
  • Help organize process documentation, data definitions, and shared folder structures.
  • Assist with data reconciliation between operational data and financial reporting outputs.
What You'll Bring:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or a related field; an MBA or other related Masters Program (currently pursuing or completed) is highly preferred.
  • Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, operations, and data driven problem solving.
  • Comfortable working with data utilizing Google Sheets or Excel, with curiosity to learn more advanced techniques. Python knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data and findings simply.
  • Self starter mentality, with the ability to work independently in a fast paced startup environment.
  • Enjoys improving processes, building structure, and figuring out better ways to do things.
  • Prior internship or work experience in finance, analytics, operations, or engineering is a plus but not required.
