Description
Title: Datacomm Cabling Technician
Location: Bucks County, PA and NJ
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Datacomm Cabling Technician who takes pride in clean, reliable installations and enjoys hands-on problem solving. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling systems for voice, data, and low-voltage networks. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew in commercial, industrial, and occasionally residential environments.
Responsibilities:
  • Install, route, and secure Cat 5e, Cat 6, and fiber-optic cabling per TIA/EIA standards
  • Terminate cables (RJ45, patch panels, connectors) accurately and neatly
  • Build and maintain cable pathways, supports (racks, conduits), j-hooks, and more
  • Perform testing, labeling, and clear documentation with approved tools
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity or cabling issues efficiently
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
  • Work safely and collaboratively-whether solo or within a crew
  • Keep your workspace organized and clean
  • Communicate project status with managers, clients, and team members
  • Follow safety protocols and OSHA/company policies at all times

Requirements
Required:
  • 1-2 years of structured cabling, data-communications wiring, or low-voltage installation experience
  • Proficient with Cat 5e, Cat 6, and/or fiber-optic termination and testing
  • Skilled at cable management, labeling, and documentation
  • Confident using hand and power tools safely
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

Preferred:
  • BICSI Installer or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with coaxial cable, AV cabling, or security/access control wiring.
  • Knowledge of PoE and network device installation.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
  • Flexible to travel to job sites across PA and NJ
