The right candidate for this position is someone with extensive experience in Safety who will support our projects. This person will constantly be responsible for successfully integrating safety initiatives into the functional operation of the different projects by maintaining processes and procedures to prevent injuries and violations of the law or company policies and minimize the environmental impact of our operations.
About the role
We are in search of a highly motivated Senior Steel Project Manager who has significant experience in managing steel structures. This position involves overseeing the progress of assigned projects to ensure they are completed within the designated timeline and budget. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for aligning the project scope with financial constraints and will ensure that all team members execute each phase of the project according to the established schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and assess vendor proposals.
  • Manage multiple parallel projects using formal project planning techniques.
  • Set up projects in the PE system.
  • Establish PE fabrication schedules and objectives.
  • Coordinate subcontractors.
  • Communicate progress towards production, financial, quality, and safety goals to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate change orders.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Oversee process improvements in projects likely to have few precedents and may have an enterprise-wide impact.
  • Monitor and manage vendors and their relationships.
  • Prepare, present, and distribute project and program information to various internal and external groups.
  • Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning, and manage software and hardware availability.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Ten years of general and five years of project management experience in the structural steel industry - commercial fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the AISC Manual of Steel Construction.
  • Familiarity with construction codes and practices.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with FabSuite and Tekla preferred.
  • Proficiency in Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, and Trimble Connect software is a plus.
