Job description:
Overview
The Structural Steel Detailer will create detailed drawing packages based on design drawings provided by architects and structural engineers. The role involves generating 3D models, fabrication, and erection drawings to meet project goals, scope, and client requirements on time, using Tekla Structures software.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret design documents from architects and structural engineers.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, general contractors, and team members to produce 3D models, fabrication, and erection drawings.
Use Tekla Structures to create accurate and detailed drawings (training provided for candidates experienced in other BIM software).
Review drawings to ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and project specifications.
Coordinate with project teams to meet deadlines for design deliverables.
Modify designs based on feedback from project stakeholders.
Perform routine drafting and technical tasks as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Background in structural steel, commercial building design, or construction.
Preferably 1+ years of experience in steel detailing, but candidates eager to learn are welcome.
Experience with Tekla Structures preferred; familiarity with other BIM software (e.g., SDS2, Revit, AutoCAD) acceptable with a willingness to train in Tekla Structures.
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
