Structural Fitter Jobs in Tennessee (NOW HIRING)

A structural steel fitter is responsible for assembling, aligning, and installing steel components to form the framework of buildings, bridges, and other structures. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints to determine measurements and placement, as well as using various tools to cut, grind, and fit steel pieces. Ensuring all components are securely bolted or welded into position is crucial, along with preparing work areas, coordinating with other trades, and following strict safety procedures while working at heights or around heavy equipment.

• Assemble, align, and install steel components for structural frameworks.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine measurements and placement.
• Use tools to cut, grind, and fit steel pieces.
• Ensure components are securely bolted or welded into position.
• Prepare work areas and coordinate with other trades.
• Follow strict safety procedures while working at heights or around heavy equipment.

• Proficiency in structural blueprint reading.
• Ability to perform basic tack welds.
• Experience with fitting and welding, especially fluxcore.

• Experience with welding and fitting in structural contexts.
• Knowledge of safety procedures while working with heavy equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.50/hr.
