Inspired Designs Engineering and Architecture (IDEA) is looking for a talented and detail-driven Structural Engineer to help shape the future of modular and off-site construction across the United States.

This isn’t simply a structural engineering role. You’ll have the opportunity to take engineering concepts from design and calculations through manufacturing, transportation, installation, and final construction—seeing your work become real buildings.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Structural Engineer, you’ll develop safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural systems for a wide range of modular projects, including commercial, residential, hospitality, education, healthcare, government, and specialty buildings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design structural steel, cold-formed steel, hybrid systems, and modular chassis.
  • Perform structural calculations for wind, snow, seismic, live/dead, transportation, lifting, and installation loads.
  • Design structural connections, anchorage, tie-downs, and foundation interface systems.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, details, and specifications.
  • Support state approvals, code compliance, and third-party engineering reviews.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency, material usage, transportation, and installation.
  • Participate in product development, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with manufacturing and production teams to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization.
  • Provide technical support for field installation and structural challenges.
WHAT YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Commercial building structural design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel and applicable building codes.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Multi-state engineering licensure.
