The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can manage a project with oversight from proposal phase to construction administration.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversees structural projects, handling the entire design of building systems in materials like hot-rolled steel, cold-formed steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  2. Guides projects from their inception to completion, which involves creating project-specific construction specifications and managing construction administration. This includes performing calculations, developing detailed designs, creating models, and drafting drawings for structures used in preliminary schematics, design development, construction, and record documents.
  3. Conducts on-site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  4. Prepares cost assessments and written reports.
  5. Assists in generating proposals and estimating fees.
  6. Collaborates effectively with other departments.
  7. Cultivates and maintains client relationships


Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, with a focus on Structural Engineering.

  3. Licensure: PE License in North Carolina or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
