Join our team in the Buildings sector as a Project Engineer at our new CIMA+ office located in Saint John. As part of a team recognized for its expertise, you will participate in the structural design of institutional, residential, and commercial projects. You will bring your technical knowledge and your professional experience to develop and provide innovative solutions for our clientsโ€™ projects. In addition, you will contribute to CIMA+โ€™s outreach, mainly in the Saint John Regional Municipality.

You will work in a dynamic environment, as part of a team of engineers, technicians and drafters, on challenging projects. You will evolve within a passionate team in a context where initiative and trust are strongly encouraged.

Primary responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of structural elements for various steel, concrete, or wood structures.
  • Perform calculations using specialized software for new constructions, carry out expert assessments, perform construction administration duties and supervise construction work.
  • Find and recommend solutions to technical problems and issues.
  • Project planning including design schedule, and proposed construction schedules.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Follow up on each step of a project (field surveys and inspections, technical reports, plans and specifications, work supervision).
  • Provide technical support to clients and ensure proper coordination with the various stakeholders (architects, engineers, contractors) throughout the project.
  • Liaise directly with clients and maintain business relationships.
  • Prepare proposal submissions including pricing, agreements, and/or response to RFPs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent.
  • Hold a P. Eng. from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB)
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in building structures at conception level and in inspection on construction sites
  • Proficiency with ETABS, ADA and SAFE software
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Ability to work on different projects simultaneously
  • Fluency in oral and written English is a must (French is considered an asset).
  • Valid driverโ€™s licence and access to a vehicle
