Job description

We're looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team at our Overland Park, KS location (in office). This individual will assist with the design of a variety of industrial projects that may include equipment foundations, pipe racks, vessel replacements, etc., and commercial projects that may include schools, churches, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design and production of detailed design drawings, electronic models, specifications, written reports, and site observation reports.
  • Complete structural calculations with different design materials, specifically with steel and concrete.
  • Assist in the selection of the appropriate building materials.
  • Prepare cost estimates for capital projects.
  • Prepare and assist with project proposals, interviews, and client presentations.
  • Attend client meetings to ensure the design meets their needs and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to production staff.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience.
  • PE license in Kansas is preferred (or on track to obtain a PE license).
  • Exposure to Structural Drafting software (AutoCAD, CadWorx, Revit, etc.).
  • Exposure to Structural Analysis software (RISA, etc.).
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple project tasks. Excellent presentation, written communication, time management, and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work under pressure, be self-directed, exhibit good business judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Compliance with MKEC and client drug/alcohol and safety programs.
