Structural Engineer
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Moon Township, Pennsylvania
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Moon Township, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional who is looking to expand their technical expertise, contribute to complex industrial projects, and grow within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will play an integral role in structural analysis and design efforts while working closely with Structural Leads, Engineers, Designers, and other engineering disciplines. You will contribute to the development of structural concepts, perform engineering calculations and analysis, and help ensure structural requirements are effectively communicated through design documents and 3D models.
This role offers the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility, strengthen technical capabilities, and build a strong foundation in structural engineering design across a variety of challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform conventional structural engineering analysis and design activities under general supervision
  • Assist with development of structural design concepts and detailed engineering solutions
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria with increasing independence
  • Develop knowledge and application of lateral analysis and design principles, including wind and seismic design requirements
  • Interpret and apply applicable building codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
  • Collaborate closely with Structural Leads, Designers, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Support the development of structural deliverables, calculations, specifications, and models
  • Perform quality checks and calculation reviews of engineering work
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Take ownership of assigned work scopes while supporting project schedule, budget, and quality goals
  • Identify potential scope changes and communicate effectively with project leadership
  • Proactively seek guidance and collaborate with peers and senior engineers when needed
  • Work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced project environment
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of structural engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of U.S. building codes and standards including:
    • IBC
    • ASCE 7
    • ACI
    • AISC
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage workload and meet project commitments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
  • Experience using structural engineering software including:
    • STAAD
    • Navisworks
    • Bluebeam
  • Experience designing and analyzing steel and concrete structures
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, industrial, or advanced manufacturing facilities
