JOB DUTIES:

1. Leadership & Team Coordination.
  • Lead and manage task assignments for the structural analysis team across assigned projects.
  • Coordinate analysis activities within multi-member teams working on shared products.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Summarize completed work and contribute to project planning with lead analysts.

2. Structural Analysis & Modeling
  • Perform structural analysis on composite and metallic materials in both static and dynamic domains.
  • Construct and validate finite element models using FEMAP/NxNastran and ABAQUS.
  • Apply hand calculations and empirical methods to verify and validate analysis results.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of fasteners, lugs, and joints using industry-standard techniques.
  • Develop complete Free Body Diagrams for all structural evaluations.

3. Systems Engineering Support
  • Conduct concept studies to support systems engineering initiatives.
  • Participate in technical trade-off evaluations and solution selection processes.
  • Maintain awareness of cost and schedule impacts during analysis and design phases.

4. Testing & Correlation
  • Provide input to inspection and test plans.
  • Perform test evaluations and correlate results with analytical models.
  • Support test predictions and post-test evaluations to refine analysis methods.

5. Documentation & Communication
  • Issue detailed technical reports documenting analysis work.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings and design reviews.
  • Communicate effectively across engineering disciplines and with stakeholders.

6. Tools & Technical Proficiency
  • Utilize FEMAP/NxNastran for linear analysis and ABAQUS for non-linear simulations.
  • Apply MATLAB for data analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in classical analysis techniques and hand calculations.

7. Travel & Collaboration
  • Travel periodically to U.S. sites and Switzerland to support project activities and foster collaboration.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, or related.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 10 years' experience with
  • Analyzing composite and metallic components for aerospace or launch vehicle applications.
  • Applying calculation methods including hand calculations and computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.
  • Developing and verifying structural models using Free Body Diagrams and hand calculations. Utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as FEMAP/NxNastran and ABAQUS (or
  • equivalent non-linear solvers).
  • Using MATLAB for engineering analysis, data processing, and tool development.
  • Preparing detailed technical reports to support aerospace projects and document analysis results.
  • Managing analysis teams, including planning and coordinating cross-functional technical efforts.
  • Ensuring alignment of engineering activities with cost, schedule, and resource constraints.
  • Supporting test planning, evaluation, and correlation of analysis tools with empirical data.
  • Participating in internal and external technical reviews and providing engineering guidance to team members.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10% travel to Zunich Switzerland to collaborate with global engineering team.
