CDL Heavy Haul Driver

Strike Operating Company, LLC

Job Summary

Strike Operating Company, LLC is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Heavy Haul Driver with at least one year of commercial driving experience with heavy haul. The CDL Heavy Haul Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of heavy equipment, machinery, materials, and oversized loads to and from job sites while ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, lowboys, flatbeds, and heavy-haul equipment.

  • Transport heavy construction, pipeline, and oilfield equipment to designated locations.

  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.

  • Secure loads properly using chains, binders, straps, and other approved tie-down methods.

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including DOT requirements.

  • Maintain accurate driver logs, mileage records, fuel receipts, and other required paperwork.

  • Coordinate with dispatch, supervisors, and job site personnel regarding delivery schedules and route planning.

  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment when required.

  • Report vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, incidents, and safety concerns promptly.

  • Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and professional manner at all times.

  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of CDL Class A driving experience with heavy haul.

  • Valid CDL Class A driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement requirements, and safe driving practices.

  • Experience hauling heavy equipment, oversized loads, or construction equipment preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand permits, maps, and transportation documentation.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and travel as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to climb on and off trucks and trailers frequently.

  • Ability to secure loads using chains, binders, and straps.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods.
