What is a strawberry?

Strawberries are a type of fruit and not a job title. However, in the context of employment, the term 'strawberry' may refer to jobs involving the cultivation, harvesting, or processing of strawberries, such as strawberry picker, farm worker, or agricultural laborer. These roles typically involve planting, tending, and picking strawberries on farms, and may also include sorting and packaging the fruit for sale. Workers in these positions are essential for maintaining the supply chain of strawberries from farm to market.

What are some common challenges faced by strawberry farm workers during peak harvest season?

Strawberry farm workers often encounter physically demanding work during peak harvest season, including long hours outdoors and repetitive tasks such as bending, picking, and sorting berries. The role requires attention to quality control, as only ripe, undamaged strawberries are selected for market, which can be challenging as harvest pace increases. Additionally, workers must often collaborate closely with team members to meet daily quotas and maintain efficiency, making communication and teamwork important aspects of the job.

Common Search/ComparisonYesYes

While both Strawberry and Fruit Picker roles involve harvesting crops outdoors during the season, Strawberry is specific to harvesting strawberries, requiring familiarity with the crop and handling delicate fruit. Fruit Picker is a broader term that includes harvesting various fruits, often with similar skills but less specialization. Both roles are seasonal, outdoor, and require physical stamina, but strawberries demand more careful handling due to the fruit's fragility.

Job description

At Rocket Farm Restaurants, the core philosophy that defines our culture is “We serve the person who is serving the guest.” Our culture is not something we act out on the floor of the restaurant. It starts with how we treat and serve one another in the kitchen – with dignity, respect, and care. We believe there should be no difference in how we treat and serve one another in the kitchen and how we treat and serve our guests in the dining room. We hope you agree and will consider joining us!

Superica brings sunshine to the Queen City’s Strawberry Hill neighborhood, with an Old-West inspired, relaxed yet upbeat vibe and Tex-Mex cuisine served over brunch, lunch, dinner, and the city’s best margaritas.

Superica Strawberry Hill is seeking an experienced Bartender to join its Tex-Mex family!

Superica is hiring a Bartender who is a creative thinker and great communicator. If you are self-motivated and looking to constantly improve your craft, this is the position for you! The foundation of the Superica beverage program is margaritas and beer, while the cocktail menu is reflective of the restaurant’s overall theme, with an emphasis on Texas-made spirits and margaritas. Our bartenders work closely with the rest of the staff to ensure bar product quality and a thorough understanding of all beverage products available, along with cocktail inspiration and history in order to tell our story to our guests. Please apply online today, and feel free to stop by our Open House every Wednesday from 1 PM to 4 PM to meet the team and learn more about opportunities with Superica!

Competitive pay - $5.15 to $14.00/hr. + tips - based on experience and ability

As a valued member of our team, you will receive:

A supportive culture and ethical work environment

Dynamic performance-based raises and promotions

Time off on most major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Dining discounts at all Rocket Farm Restaurants – Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Raleigh, and Winter Park

Rocket Farm University: specialized leadership classes and personalized support for career advancement

Employee-led Mentorship programs, Advisory Council and Safety Committee

Additional benefits after 1-year of employment:

  • Paid Time Off, Childbirth Recovery Leave and Parental Leave to support a healthy work-life balance
  • Major Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
