What is a strawberry?

Strawberries are a type of fruit and not a job title. However, in the context of employment, the term 'strawberry' may refer to jobs involving the cultivation, harvesting, or processing of strawberries, such as strawberry picker, farm worker, or agricultural laborer. These roles typically involve planting, tending, and picking strawberries on farms, and may also include sorting and packaging the fruit for sale. Workers in these positions are essential for maintaining the supply chain of strawberries from farm to market.

What are some common challenges faced by strawberry farm workers during peak harvest season?

Strawberry farm workers often encounter physically demanding work during peak harvest season, including long hours outdoors and repetitive tasks such as bending, picking, and sorting berries. The role requires attention to quality control, as only ripe, undamaged strawberries are selected for market, which can be challenging as harvest pace increases. Additionally, workers must often collaborate closely with team members to meet daily quotas and maintain efficiency, making communication and teamwork important aspects of the job.

What is the difference between Strawberry vs Fruit Picker?

Common Search/ComparisonYesYes

While both Strawberry and Fruit Picker roles involve harvesting crops outdoors during the season, Strawberry is specific to harvesting strawberries, requiring familiarity with the crop and handling delicate fruit. Fruit Picker is a broader term that includes harvesting various fruits, often with similar skills but less specialization. Both roles are seasonal, outdoor, and require physical stamina, but strawberries demand more careful handling due to the fruit's fragility.

Job description

Description

The Winter Golf Simulator Associate plays an important role in delivering a best-in-class experience for members and guests utilizing The Club at Strawberry Creek's two TrackMan Golf Simulators during the winter months.

This position is centered around hospitality. The ideal candidate will be proactive, personable, attentive, and comfortable with technology while serving as a great host throughout each member's simulator experience. Responsibilities include preparing the simulators, assisting members with TrackMan software, retrieving golf bags from storage, ensuring accurate billing, and anticipating member needs throughout their visit.

This position has the opportunity to begin immediately, assisting with general Golf Operations through the remainder of the 2026 golf season before transitioning primarily to simulator operations during the winter. Once outdoor golf operations resume, this position may transition back into a general Golf Operations role for the 2027 golf season.

Core Values - TEAM STRAW

This position embodies the core values of Service Excellence, Teamwork, Respect, Accountability, and Wow Factor.

The Winter Golf Simulator Associate should understand that our simulators are more than simply a place for members to play golf during the winter. They are an extension of the overall Strawberry Creek member experience.

Our goal is to provide more than service-we want to provide hospitality. Whether that means having a member's golf bag waiting for them, helping select the perfect TrackMan course, assisting with a beverage, or simply remembering how a member likes their simulator set up, the small details create the Wow Factor we strive to deliver.

Why This Role Matters

The TrackMan Simulators allow Strawberry Creek to continue providing an exceptional golf experience throughout the winter months. This position helps ensure that every simulator reservation feels organized, welcoming, personalized, and professionally managed.

By combining knowledge of golf and technology with outstanding hospitality, the Winter Golf Simulator Associate helps create an experience that keeps our members engaged with the Club throughout the entire year.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong hospitality mindset.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with members and guests.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate member needs.
  • Comfortable learning and operating technology; previous TrackMan experience is a plus      but not required.
  • General knowledge and passion for the game of golf is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as simulator demand requires.
  • Ability to safely lift and transport golf bags and equipment.

Prior golf, hospitality, customer service, or club experience is preferred but not required
