The Role:

The Mechanical Project Engineer is an intermediate-level engineer responsible for taking on more complex design tasks and contributing to the technical aspects of engineering projects. This role involves working closely with senior engineers, managing portions of projects independently, and ensuring that designs meet both technical and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of engineering designs for complex components of projects, including preparing detailed technical drawings and calculations.
  • Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and simulations to verify that designs meet client, code, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) to create detailed models, schematics, and construction documents that align with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure the seamless integration of building systems.
  • Conduct research on materials, technologies, and applicable regulations to ensure that designs are compliant with industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in project management activities, including scheduling, task coordination, and managing deliverables to ensure timely project completion.
  • Attend client and team meetings to present design concepts, provide technical updates, and address project concerns.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues on-site, and ensure that design intent is being followed during execution.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3-4 years of experience in engineering design and project delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience with complex or large-scale engineering projects.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.
