Senior Technical Strategy Manager

The Boeing Company is looking for aSenior Technical Strategy Managerto join the Functional Chief Engineer Office - Materials, Processes & Physics (MP&P) team in one of our Boeing site locations.

This role will define and steward a strategy that connects and empowers MP&P expertise to deliver safe, high-quality, and innovative products across their lifecycle.

This senior leadership role partners with the MP&P Functional Chief Engineer and cross-enterprise MP&P stakeholders to shape technical and technology roadmaps, drive Digital Engineering investments, reduce systemic technical debt, and ensure long-term capability readiness. The role is also responsible for developing the roadmap and strategy to develop the MP&P tools and capabilities to support BCA, BDS, and ETI. The skills needed for this role are highly technical, varied and specialized.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Define and steward an enterprise-level MP&P technical strategy that aligns engineering capabilities, practices, tools, and investments to enable safe, high-quality, and innovative product outcomes.
  • Lead a task force responsible for developing and executing the tools and capabilities roadmap for MP&P.
  • Develop, maintain, and socialize Technical and Technology Roadmaps that prioritize capability development, tool adoption, and risk mitigation.
  • Integrate technical strategy and implementation across Business Units and Functions to enable replication, continuous improvement, and consistent technical approaches that reduce rework and program risk.
  • Advocate for and lead execution of MP&P Digital Engineering investments-model-based systems and product definition, digital twins, verification/validation automation, and integrated lifecycle data environments.
  • Create and pilot Industry Engagement pathfinders to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, partnerships, and standards that advance MP&P engineering practices.
  • Define and implement technology initiatives to systematically address technical debt, improve engineering velocity and quality, and reduce sustainment cost across product families.
  • Ensure functional and strategic capability needs are aligned, identified, funded, and staffed.
  • Provide technical oversight and approval of enterprise-level approaches, products, and processes related to MP&P technical strategy and enabling technologies.
  • Provide functional oversight to employees performing engineering and technical activities in MP&P across multiple locations and business units
  • Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees and mid-level managers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience working directly in the MP&P Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of technical experts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years in formal management leading teams in the functional area of MP&P
  • Experience hiring and developing Engineers in one or more of the MP&P disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing technical/technology roadmaps and driving enterprise-level technical strategy.
  • Proven success advocating for and delivering Digital Engineering solutions
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing technical/technology roadmaps and driving enterprise-level technical strategy.
  • Direct experience leading Technical Fellowship members and subject matter experts
  • Strategic thinker
  • Strong integration and collaboration skills
  • Strong communicator at all levels

Position may require travel up to 20% of the time.
