About the job
We're looking for a Manager, Commercial Strategy for our office in Alpharetta, GA, USA. The position is on-site, and you'll join the Strategy and Commercial Operations team to drive strategic segment growth and support executive decisions. This role will be on-site 5 days per week.
About the role
In this role, you'll develop deep insights into Aptean's strategic segments through analysis of performance data, customer feedback, and market research. You'll work within the Strategy and Commercial Operations team, reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy. Your recommendations guide sales, marketing, product, and finance teams toward improved segment performance.
Key Responsibilities
You'll develop a thorough understanding of assigned strategic segments, including performance trends, customer needs and sentiment, market dynamics, and competitors. You'll analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess segment health across retention, bookings, services revenue, customer health, product utilization, and cost to serve. You'll identify significant risks and opportunities, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations and strategic priorities.
You'll partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and other stakeholders to align on segment strategy and support coordinated execution. You'll create commercial narratives, executive-ready presentations, and recommendations that connect data and market context to business decisions. You'll manage cross-functional initiatives, track actions, resolve issues, and ensure timely follow-through.
About you
You're a strategic thinker with strong program and project-management skills. You're comfortable working with ambiguity and can adapt across business topics. You communicate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional partners, synthesizing data and insights into compelling commercial narratives and presentations.
You hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field. You have experience in commercial strategy, business analysis, revenue operations, financial planning, or consulting, with a proven track record of translating data into recommendations. You have strong Excel and data-analysis skills with the ability to identify meaningful patterns and validate conclusions.
To be ahead of the pack, you might have:
  • Experience analyzing customer, market, bookings, pricing, or retention data
  • Familiarity with SaaS or software business models
