About the Role

Matter Health is seeking a Director of Data Strategy & Engineering to lead our enterprise data strategy, engineering, and analytics platform. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this leader will be responsible for designing, developing, and evolving Matter Healthโ€™s modern healthcare data ecosystem. The Director will collaborate closely with Clinical, Operations, Finance, and Technology leadership to turn data into actionable business insights that improve operational performance, strengthen value-based care initiatives, and drive organizational growth.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Lead and set the vision for Matter Healthโ€™s enterprise data strategy and long-term data roadmap.

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-based data platforms and analytics infrastructure.

  • Oversee data architecture, engineering, governance, quality, and reporting capabilities.

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data warehouses, data pipelines, and integration solutions.

  • Partner with executive leadership to deliver impactful operational, clinical, financial, and strategic insights.

  • Collaborate across departments to enable data-driven decision-making and business growth.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance Matter Healthโ€™s data ecosystem.

What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Significant experience leading enterprise data engineering, analytics, or data platform organizations.

  • Strong background in designing and managing modern cloud-based data platforms.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture, ETL processes, data governance, and analytics best practices.

  • Experience working with healthcare data, including EHR, payer, claims, CRM, or operational systems.

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or related technologies.

  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing technical teams.

  • Excellent communication skills with the capacity to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
