UnitedHealthcare is seeking a Manager of Data Analytics to lead a team of data analysts supporting the Consumer Operations Vital and Experience Hub (COVE).  COVE monitors consumer experience, provider experience, and core operational experiences, enabling early detection of issues and data driven decision making across lines of business.  This role reports to the Associate Director of Data Analytics and is responsible for day to day people leadership, delivery management, and analytic execution 

The Manager of Data Analytics supports the Associate Director in ensuring that analytic strategy and technology advancement is executed consistently and effectively through high-quality reporting, insights, and analytics.

This role balances hands-on analytical leadership with coaching, prioritization, and stakeholder management.  In addition, this role helps bring maturity to COVE analytics capabilities, ensuring the data team delivers tools and resources to detect and research critical issues and to deliver high-impact insights across the organization.

This position is hybrid, with a minimum of 4 days per week in office at the 9700 Building in Minnetonka, MN.

Primary Responsibilities:

People Leadership & Team Management

  • Directly manage, coach, and mentor a team of data analysts, supporting performance, engagement, and professional development
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and development planning aligned to individual career paths and business needs
  • Set clear expectations for analytic quality, responsiveness, and professional standards
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and continuous learning team culture

Analytics Delivery & Execution

  • Manage day to day execution of analytics and reporting work, ensuring timely delivery and alignment to business priorities
  • Oversee intake, prioritization, and refinement of analytics requests in partnership with the Associate Director
  • Review and quality check dashboards, analyses, and presentations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity
  • Ensure standardized metric definitions, documentation, and repeatable analytic processes

Analytic Guidance & Hands-On Support

  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to analysts on SQL, BI tools, data modeling, and analytic approaches
  • Serve as a hands on contributor for complex analyses, urgent operational needs, or high visibility deliverables as required
  • Support applied use of advanced analytics (e.g., trend analysis, forecasting, text analytics) in partnership with the Associate Director

Continuous Improvement & Enablement

  • Identify opportunities to improve analytic workflows, reporting efficiency, and team productivity
  • Partner with the Associate Director to implement new standards, tools, or processes
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across the analytics team and broader organization

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work in close collaboration with consumer and provider/core teams to ensure analytics align to real operational questions and context

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a related quantitative field
  • 3 years of hands on experience delivering analytics, reporting, and insights for operational or leadership audiences
  • 2 years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing analysts or analytics teams
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and working with large, complex datasets
  • Advanced experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to review and translate analytic outputs into clear, business ready insights
  • Experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Lakes
  • Solid organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • Must live in the state of Minnesota and have the ability to work in the Minnetonka office an average of four (4) days per week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python or other analytical programming languages
  • Experience with machine learning or AI techniques applied to operational or experience analytics
  • Experience supporting contact center, omni channel, consumer experience, or provider experience domains
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, operational environment
  • Experience with cloud based analytics platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
  • Healthcare or health insurance industry experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
