Program Overview
Benchmade is seeking a Strategic Planning Intern to support the Director of Global Value Chain Strategy during Summer 2026. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting strategic business initiatives across supply chain, operations, manufacturing, planning, and enterprise strategy.
This role is ideal for a student interested in business strategy, operations, supply chain, industrial engineering, analytics, consulting, or organizational leadership. The intern will contribute to high-impact projects, conduct research and analysis, and help support initiatives that drive operational excellence and long-term business growth.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to cross-functional business strategy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

How You'll Make a Difference
- Support strategic value chain initiatives and cross-functional business projects within the Operational and Supply Chain Organization.
- Assist with research, analysis, and development of recommendations related to global value chain strategy, risk management & mitigation, macroeconomic analysis and vertical integration opportunities.
- Analyze industry data and trends to help identify opportunities for value chain optimization and vertical integration enhancements.
- Collaborate with leaders and partners across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Product, and other business functions.
- Monitoring macroeconomic impacts and changes with impact analysis
- Support project planning activities including documentation, presentations, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Assist in building and creating due diligence support documentation, process maps, dashboards, presentations, and strategic planning materials such as SWOT/TOWS.
- Prepare and deliver a capstone presentation highlighting internship contributions, key learnings, and recommendations to leadership.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring to Benchmade
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Global Business/International Business, Strategic Management, Procurement/Sourcing, Organizational Leadership, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
- Preferred academic standing: Rising Senior, Senior, Master's, or MBA student.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to synthesize information and communicate insights clearly and professionally.
- Effective collaborator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data visualization or analytics tools is a plus.
- Self-motivated with a growth mindset and willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt within a fast-paced business setting.
- HYBRID working model and onsite (at least 3 days a week) Must be able to work onsite at Benchmade headquarters for the duration of the internship. (Relocation assistance and housing are not provided.)
