  • Partner with IT and ERP teams to identify, design, test, and implement procurement system enhancements.
  • Eliminate manual email-based purchasing activities by standardizing and automating transactional processes.
  • Develop exception management processes, allowing buyers to focus on supply risks, shortages, and strategic issues rather than routine transactions.
  • Analyze procurement workflows and identify opportunities for efficiency, simplification, and cost reduction.
  • Support implementation of new ERP functionality, supplier integrations, EDI/API connections, and workflow automation.
  • Create KPIs and dashboards to monitor supplier responsiveness, automation rates, purchase order cycle times, and process compliance.
  • Train and coach purchasing team members on new digital tools and best practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and process mapping.
  • Work cross-functionally with Planning, Operations, IT, Finance, and suppliers to improve procurement effectiveness.
  • Interact with Commodity Management team that supports sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, and issue resolution as required.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Experience implementing supplier portals or supplier collaboration platforms.
  • Knowledge of workflow automation and digital procurement tools.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities; Power BI or similar analytics tools preferred.
  • Understanding of EDI/API integrations and electronic supplier communication is highly desirable.

  • Process-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to challenge legacy ways of working and drive organizational change.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Customer-focused and results-oriented.

Preferred Experience
  • 5+ years in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Procurement.
  • Experience leading procurement transformation or automation initiatives.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • Experience working closely with IT teams on system implementation projects.
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

The successful candidate will help transform the purchasing organization by:
  • Increasing supplier portal adoption.
  • Reducing manual email transactions.
  • Increasing automated purchase order confirmations.
  • Reducing buyer transactional workload.
  • Improving supplier response times.
