The Job

The Senior Manager, Strategic Programs & Operations supports theVP, Strategic Programs and Operationsto improve internal operations, alignsstrategic priorities,managethe dedicated CT Org budget, andmanagehigh-impact projects on behalf of the Chief Technologist (CT) Organization. This role requires a proactive, organized, and highly adaptable leader who can influence without direct authority, lead cross-functional teams,and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Key Responsibilities

Execution & Governance of Innovation Initiatives

  • Support execution and governance across the CT Org's portfolio of innovation initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency and discipline across accountability across processes, cadences, and communication discipline.

Budget & Resource Stewardship

  • Support planning, allocation, and tracking of the dedicated CTO budget, ensuring every investment directly supports the delivery of innovation initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Help maintain a clear, defensible line of sight from budget decisions to strategic outcomes.

Strategic Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as an interface with enterprise stakeholders across the business to accelerate innovation delivery and remove organizational friction.
  • Help translate CT Org strategic priorities into operating plans, milestones, and governance routines that keep cross-functional teams aligned.

Program & Operations Management

  • Help continuously improve the operating rhythm of the CT Org: reporting, decision logs, risk registers, and executive communications.

Essential requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, program/portfolio management, or chief-of-staff-type roles, ideally supporting a technology, R&D, or innovation function.
  • Track record of driving governance and accountability across cross-functional, matrixed teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong executive presence and judgment: able to filter and reframe operational detail into concise, decision-ready insight for senior leadership.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous, startup-like environment nested inside a larger enterprise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience producing executive-level reporting and governance artifacts.
  • Experience in industrial technology, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors is a plus but not required for this operations-focused role.
