GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the SSS - Stud Supp Svcs department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Position Overview
The Program Support Specialist is a key team member who enhances the effectiveness and impact of the federallyfunded TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. By providing hands-on support to both staff andparticipants, this role helps ensure the team delivers high-quality services that foster student success. The specialist contributes directly to theprogram's mission of empowering first-generation, economically disadvantaged,and underrepresented students to achieve their academic, personal, and careergoals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with Program Initiatives
Collaborates with TRIO staff to execute program initiatives and support retention strategies, helping the team achieve student success goals.
Coordinate New Participant Orientations
Schedules new participant orientation sessions, ensuring students are welcomed, informed, and fully integrated into the TRIO SSS program.
Manage Tutoring & Academic Support Scheduling
Coordinates the scheduling of tutoring, academic coaching, advising, and resources to connect students with the resources they need to succeed.
Support Workshops, Events & Cultural Activities
Organizes and assists with workshops, leadership events, cultural enrichment activities, and campus engagement opportunities to strengthen participant involvement.
Manage Program Social Media & Communications
Monitors TRIO SSS social media platforms, shares program updates, highlights student achievements, and promotes events to boost visibility and engagement.
Strengthen Student & Campus Communication
Serves as a bridge between students, TRIO staff, and campus partners, ensuring effective communication and timely delivery of information and resources.
Streamline Program Processes
Assists in improving program workflows, participant tracking systems, and event coordination to enhance team efficiency and program outcomes.
Foster a Supportive Environment
Helps create a welcoming, inclusive, and student-focused environment where TRIO SSS participants feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred. At least one year of relevant experience in administrative or program support, student services, academic advising, or a related field providing support.
