Job description

This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.
If you're passionate about designing, developing, and delivering diverse solutions for AWS customers and partners that truly make a difference in their business, learning and mastering challenging engineering domains, and shaping the future of AI-driven cloud services, then we have an exciting opportunity for you. This role demands a self-starter mindset, rapid experimentation, and expertise in partner ecosystems - ideal for engineers who love learning, challenging norms, and building prototypes that ship.
A wave of innovation is revolutionizing partner ecosystems through AI-driven automation, secure multi-cloud architectures, and elastic scalability - reshaping how global enterprises deploy and use mission-critical cloud solutions. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to build new capabilities and solutions, to help customers and partners, run their workloads (like SAP) on AWS. The AI & Strategic Partner Engineering team architects and builds deep integrations with partners and customers leveraging these partner solutions on AWS platforms, creating seamless interoperability that accelerates time-to-market for joint customer successes. Our team is expanding to deliver wide-ranging innovations across multiple and complex engineering domains (like security, AI/ML, distributed systems, emerging AWS services, etc.), while pioneering Agentic AI and LLM integrations that enable rapid prototyping and deployment through collaborative AI agent workflows.
Key job responsibilities
As a software development engineer in the AI & Strategic Partner Engineering team, you'll be a self-starter in fast-paced, high-velocity environments to build new capabilities for partner-driven solutions, including strategic collaborations with industry leaders like SAP, working alongside skillful builders, senior engineers and architects. You'll design system architecture and spearhead operational best practices in the design and delivery of new products and solutions. All team members actively participate in product definition, technical architecture reviews, iterative development, code review, and operations. Along with this, you'll have the opportunity to interact with customers and partners, to understand and ensure their needs are met. Clear, professional, verbal and written communication with teammates and customers is an important part of the job.
Partner Solution Leadership
- Design & deliver mission-critical solutions for AWS partners across various engineering domains, not limiting to security, AI/ML, distributed systems, databases, VPC, and emerging AWS services
- Build detailed technical specifications and collaborate with AI agents to rapidly prototype and validate solutions
- Architect and deliver integrations between partners (like SAP) and AWS-native services, enabling seamless data flow, identity management, and compliance for global enterprises.
Engineering Excellence
- Master diverse domains: Security frameworks, AI/ML pipelines, distributed databases, cloud-native infrastructure (VPC, EC2, S3, etc.), and Agentic AI/LLM integrations
- Drive innovation through experimentation with large language models, autonomous agents, and generative AI tools to solve partner challenges
- Own full-stack development from design to deployment, emphasizing high availability, performance, and customer delight
- You should enjoy working on complex systems, be customer-centric, and have a proven track record of building exceptionally high-quality software that delights customers.
Collaborative Execution
- Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguity-rich environments with tight deadlines - turning ideas into production-ready solutions quickly
- Partner deeply with cross-functional teams (Product, Security, AI Research) to align technical strategies with business goals
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing, while maintaining rigorous code quality through peer reviews
A day in the life
You'll start by discovering partner pain points, then design architectures that blend security, scalability, and AI innovation. Using AI agents, you'll rapidly prototype solutions, validate them through load testing, and collaborate with partners to ensure adoption. When deadlines tighten, you'll lead brainstorming sessions, troubleshoot complex distributed failures, and document everything to empower future teams.
