Through strategic planning, collaboration, and technical excellence, and guided by our values of Integrity, Safety, Ingenuity, Relationships, Craftsmanship, and Spark, we empower our professionals to innovate, support our field teams, and strengthen the partnerships that move our work forward.

Join a team where your expertise fuels the systems that keep communities running!

Internship Overview

We believe the best way to start your career is by doing work you actually care about. In our internship program, you take the driver’s seat. We tailor your day-to-day projects around your specific career interests and goals, not just a checklist of corporate chores.

As a leading electrical contractor, we’ll give you an insider’s look into the industry through real-world experience on active projects. You’ll get to see how different teams collaborate to bring complex projects to life, build practical and professional skills, and learn directly from industry pros in the field and office.

Role Overview

As a Construction Management intern, you’ll jump straight into action, gaining immersive experience across every phase of a project, from early planning and preconstruction to final field execution.

Because our program is tailored to your goals, you’ll have the space to focus on the elements of construction that excite you most. Whether you want to dive deeper into preconstruction analysis, master site safety standards, shadow trade specialists, or learn the ins and outs of project software, you’ll play a direct role in delivering successful projects.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Project Success

  • Help shape project scope, goals, and deliverables while learning how major builds come together.
  • Jump into preconstruction analysis, working with bid strategies, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Research pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to build cost-effective solutions.

Work Across Field & Office

  • Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings to gather critical project details directly from the field.
  • Partner with our estimating team to streamline data processes, refine reporting, and keep workflows running smoothly.
  • Conduct site walkthroughs alongside safety pros to ensure active job sites meet the highest safety standards.

Build Tech & Software Expertise

  • Gain hands-on experience with industry standard software like Procore and MS Project, plus trade-specific tolls like Accubid and Change Order Pro.

Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Curious and ready to jump in, bringing enthusiasm, a strong aptitude to grow, and an eagerness to learn on the job.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated leadership potential and a collaborative team attitude.
  • Trustworthy and ethical, with high integrity when interacting with internal teams, field crews, and external partners.

Demonstrated Accomplishment

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and connect with team members across the field and office.
  • A problem-solving, analytical mindset focused on evaluating details, spotting better ways to do things, and bringing practical solutions to life.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and quick to pick up new tools and software.

Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Construction Management or Project Management
  • Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 certification within first month.

Working Conditions:

Part of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.00/hour

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
