Job Description

The Director, Commercial Finance – Clinical Trials Division is a strategic finance leader responsible for driving commercial performance, pricing strategy, business analytics, and revenue optimization across a multi-billion-dollar global business. This role partners closely with Commercial, Finance, and Business Unit leadership to deliver actionable insights, improve profitability, and enable data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities include leading pricing and deal strategy, commercial forecasting, business intelligence reporting, and transformation initiatives. The role also oversees advanced analytics capabilities, supports strategic planning processes, and drives operational excellence across commercial finance activities.

This leader will play a critical role in driving profitable growth for the Clinical Trials Division by partnering closely with Commercial leadership to defend and expand key customer relationships, improve market share, and optimize commercial outcomes. The role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with commercial and corporate policies, while strengthening pricing governance and contract discipline.

Additionally, the Director will lead the development of scalable analytics and reporting solutions, accelerate AI-enabled decision support and automation, enhance forecasting accuracy, and enable growth through strong cross-functional business partnership and strategic insight generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Commercial VP to enable Sales & Revenue Growth – sales forecast, pipeline and other commercial analytics
  • Strategic Pricing & Deal Optimization – MSA negotiations, deal modelling, pricing new offerings, ad hoc pricing requests
  • Pricing operations and Governance – rebate/discount calculation, update rate cards, contract compliance, annual price roll
  • Advanced Analytics, Data Science & Transformation – data science projects, commercial business analytics
  • People leadership – Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of managers and analysts


Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial finance, pricing, analytics, or strategic finance leadership
  • Strong expertise in pricing strategy, forecasting, financial modeling, and business analytics
  • Experience with Power BI, ERP/CRM platforms, and data visualization tools
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
     

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in life sciences, clinical research, healthcare, or pharmaceutical services
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics and commercial transformation initiatives
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
