Job description

Regular travel throughout the designated territory is expected.

Compensation: Base Salary + Commission

The Business Development Director is responsible for driving strategic growth within an assigned market or region through the development and execution of referral-based business development strategies. This role is directly accountable for generating referrals and achieving growth goals within an assigned territory, while also providing leadership to Business Development Associates. This role provides leadership to Business Development Associates and ensures strong, compliant relationships with referral sources including case managers, discharge planners, referral coordinators, physicians, and community partners. The Director serves as a key ambassador of Angels of Care Home Health, promoting services in alignment with organizational standards, growth objectives, and the HALOS values, while ensuring families experience a seamless and responsive start and continuation of care.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Business Development Associates to execute market growth strategies and referral engagement plans.
  • Drive referral growth within an assigned territory by developing, managing, and strengthening relationships with key referral sources.
  • Establish clear performance goals, expectations, and accountability measures for business development staff, providing regular feedback and performance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with referral sources, including hospitals, physicians, case managers, discharge planners, and community organizations.
  • Execute strategic outreach initiatives through sales calls, community engagement, recruiting events, and targeted marketing activities.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned territory referral goals, pipeline activity, and market growth outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between referral sources, intake, operations, and clinical teams to support timely and effective start of care and service continuity.
  • Support client onboarding and post‑onboarding follow‑up to ensure satisfaction, retention, and alignment with service expectations.
  • Monitor territory and individual performance metrics, analyzing trends and reporting outcomes to leadership.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of referral activity, contacts, and outcomes within approved CRM platforms, including KanTime and the AOC application.
  • Represent Angels of Care Home Health at job fairs, nursing schools, industry events, and community outreach opportunities.
  • Maintain a professional and active presence on approved social media platforms, as directed by the marketing or communications team, in alignment with brand standards.
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or growth‑focused roles
  • 5+ years of leadership or team management experience
  • Experience in home health required
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare business development, referral‑based growth, or client services
  • Proven ability to manage an assigned territory, drive referral activity, and achieve measurable growth goals
  • Graduate degree in business, marketing, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred
