POSITION SUMMARY

The Brand Strategy & Communications Manager serves as a primary steward of the enterprise brand across 5K Holdings and its operating companies, responsible for defining, protecting, and continuously elevating how each company is positioned, expressed, and understood by clients, employees, partners, and the market. The role leads brand positioning, messaging, visual identity governance, communication strategy, competitive awareness, and brand-quality standards, establishing the strategic foundation behind campaigns, communications, branded materials, digital experiences, presentations, and events.

This position works closely with the Creative & Digital Experience team, which turns approved strategy into visual, digital, and interactive execution, and partners with Marketing Operations to maintain brand standards and governance. It is a highly visible role in a fast-paced, growing organization where priorities shift quickly and multiple initiatives run at once. Success requires exceptional judgment, precision, adaptability, professional confidence, strong visual awareness, and a genuine commitment to brand excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead enterprise and company-level brand positioning, defining how each company is differentiated and understood, and maintaining positioning statements, value propositions, narratives, proof points, audience messaging, and brand architecture.

  • Serve as the central authority on brand positioning, visual identity, messaging, and tone, maintaining brand books, messaging guides, visual standards, and templates, and reviewing high-visibility materials for alignment, quality, and consistency to protect the enterprise from off-brand execution.

  • Lead corporate messaging, company narratives, executive communications, announcements, campaign direction, and website messaging, translating complex business information into clear, compelling content with defined objectives and key messages.

  • Support executive thought leadership, speeches, talking points, presentations, and professional visibility initiatives.

  • Monitor competitors, industry leaders, and market activity to identify opportunities to strengthen enterprise visibility, distinction, and credibility.

  • Provide the Creative & Digital Experience team with approved strategy, messaging, and brand requirements, and confirm execution reflects the intended positioning without owning concept development.

  • Partner with executives and cross-functional stakeholders, clarify incomplete requests, challenge off-brand direction, and present recommendations with clear strategic reasoning.

  • Manage initiatives from research and strategy through review, approval, and evaluation, and develop the employees, writers, agencies, and vendors assigned to the pillar.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in brand strategy, brand management, corporate communications, marketing, positioning, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience developing brand positioning, messaging systems, communication strategies, brand standards, and high-visibility materials.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong visual awareness and the ability to evaluate design, messaging, and creative execution against established brand standards.

  • Ability to analyze competitors, audiences, and market conditions to identify positioning and visibility opportunities.

  • Strong project-management skills managing multiple companies, stakeholders, deadlines, and approvals, with the ability to create clarity within ambiguity and maintain accuracy under pressure.

  • Professional confidence to advise senior leaders, ask direct questions, challenge off-brand requests, and defend sound brand recommendations.

  • Experience managing employees, agencies, consultants, vendors, or cross-functional project teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Brand Management, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience within a multi-brand, agency, business-to-business, construction, professional-services, or rapidly growing organization.

  • Background in brand architecture, market research, executive positioning, campaign strategy, corporate communications, reputation management, or visual identity governance.

  • Experience supporting major announcements, awards, executive communications, website strategy, thought leadership, or high-profile campaigns.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Planner, content-management systems, and brand-management platforms.

  • Previous experience supervising writers, brand professionals, communications employees, agencies, or external consultants.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

The Brand Strategy & Communications Manager acts as a committed brand steward: creating clarity when direction is incomplete, communicating precisely under pressure, and distinguishing a stakeholder preference from a sound recommendation. The role takes ownership of initiatives from strategy through approval, implementation, and evaluation.

5K Holdings is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law.
